Workshop Objectives
This workshop brings together economists to discuss recent topics related to Economic and Financial Integration. Researchers are invited to submit both theoretical and empirical papers. In particular, we welcome papers related to:
• International Trade and Trade agreements
• Impacts of Economic Integration
• International Capital Flows and Vulnerability of Emerging Economies
• Financial Contagion and Regulation
• International Business Cycles Synchronization
• Finance, International Risk Sharing and International Trade
• Capital controls and macroprudential policies
• Global imbalances
• International production networks
• Global banking and shocks transmission
• Tariffs and trade dispute
• Blockchain and international trade
• Financial integration, competition, and efficiency
The workshop is open to anybody involved in these research areas, including both young and experienced researchers, Ph.D. students, post-doctoral researchers, and professionals from business, government and non-governmental institutions.

Organization
The workshop is jointly organized by INFER (International Network for Economic Research) and LAREFI (Laboratoire d’Analyse et de Recherche en Economie et Finances Internationales, Université de Bordeaux).
INFER is a non-profit international scientific organization that stimulates research and research networking in all fields of economics through international workshops and conferences. Website: http://www.infer-research.eu/
LAREFI is a research institute developing research programmes in international and finance economics. The scientific project of the unit includes two research axes. The first one, “Financial globalization and crises regulation” focuses on international finance and associated risks. The second one, “International trade, inequality and development” deal with the challenges of globalization.
Submission of Papers
Only full papers may be submitted, preferably in pdf-format. Papers must be in English and must include a cover page with the following information:
- An abstract of up to 500 words, with JEL classification and no more than 5 keywords
- Authors’ full name, affiliation
- Contact details for corresponding author, such as address, phone and e-mail
Papers should be submitted electronically, to the workshop organizers at: infer@u-bordeaux.fr
Deadline for paper submission is: March 15, 2019.
Authors are allowed to submit more than one paper. All submitted papers will be peer reviewed according to a high-quality and fast referee process. Authors will be notified whether their paper is accepted for presentation at the workshop not later than April 15, 2019.
Paper presenters are expected to discuss one other paper during the workshop. The discussant assignments will be made by the workshop organizers at a later date. As the workshop intends to strengthen the INFER network, participation is welcome even without paper contribution.
Publication of papers
INFER offers several publication possibilities to conference participants, including book volumes and journal special issues. The last INFER publications include special issues in Economic Modelling, Comparative Economic Studies, Research in International Business and Finance. You will be informed more specifically about all publication possibilities during the conference.
Registration and Registration Fee
The registration fee for presenting and non-presenting participants will be:
• 150 EUR: INFER members
• 200 EUR: other participants
Please note: the annual membership fee for private INFER members is 40 EUR only (institutional INFER members 400 EUR). You are invited to become a member!
The registration fee includes all lunches, drinks and the conference dinner. It doesn’t include travel and accommodation expenses. All conference participants have to register for the conference. Please note that paper submission is not regarded as a registration.

Please register on the INFER website (www.infer-research.net). Payment can be done via PayPal on the website. Please note that you can use the same website to become an INFER member. For most countries you don’t need a paypal account.
Alternatively, payment can be done by e-mail and bank transfer. Start in the transfer reference with your last name and INFER Workshop Coimbra 2019. Deadline for registration and payment is 10 May, 2019.
In case of late registration, the fees will be increased by 50 %.

Bordeaux is a port city on the Garonne River in the Gironde department in southwestern France. Bordeaux is located close to the European Atlantic coast, in the north of the Aquitaine region. It is around 500 km (310 mi) southwest of Paris. It is one of the largest city in France, the capital of the Aquitaine region, as well as the prefecture of the Gironde department. Bordeaux is the world's major wine industry capital. The historic part of the city is on the UNESCO World Heritage List as "an outstanding urban and architectural ensemble" of the 18th century.
Bordeaux is around two hour away from Paris - Montparnasse station by train (SNCF website: www.voyages-sncf.com. Bordeaux is also served by an international airport, Aéroport de Bordeaux Mérignac, located 8 km (5.0 mi) from the city center in the suburban city of Mérignac. You can take the bus 1 or the shuttle to get to the city center.
