In recent years, research into measures of social well-being and population happiness has proliferated. In most developed countries, these concerns have emerged over the past three decades against a backdrop of aging populations and pension system reforms aimed at extending working lives. A study published in issue 42 of Questions Politiques Sociales - Les études de la Caisse des Dépôts aims to shed light on the well-being of the French, and more specifically on the well-being they feel during the transition to retirement. To do so, it is mobilizing data from the 2014 and 2020 waves of the Pat€r survey (PATrimoine et préférences vis-à-vis du TEmps et du Risque). This post summarizes the main findings of the published article.
