Les Journées de l'Economie invite you to the National Assembly on Thursday June 13, for the Matinale de l'Économie de l'Assemblée nationale on the theme :

" How can we improve the performance of our education system? "

All surveys, both national and international, reveal a worrying trend: student levels are falling in both mathematics and spelling skills. In response to this situation, the Prime Minister has announced a series of measures designed to produce a "knowledge shock". MPs and economists will examine the relevance of these measures in the light of research into the economics of education.

The panel will include Luc Behaghel, Associate Professor at the Paris School of Economics (PSE), Gabrielle Fack, Professor of Economics at Paris-Dauphine University, Alexandre Portier, Member of Parliament for the Les Républicains group, and Cécile Rilhac, REN-affiliated Member of Parliament for the 3rd constituency of Val-d'Oise. The debate will be moderated by Jean-Marc Vittori, editorial writer at Les Echos.

Program:
- 9:30am-10:10am: Opening of the Matinale by the President of the French National Assembly and presentation of the AFSE prizes for the best economics books for students.
- 10:15 a.m.-12:00 p.m.: Round table "How can we improve the performance of our education system?
