André Cartapanis

AFSE was deeply saddened to learn of the death of André Cartapanis. A professor at the University of Aix-Marseille, then at the IEP in Aix-en-Provence, André was an eminent specialist in international financial macroeconomics. An unfailingly committed member of the academic community, he was Dean of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Aix-Marseille, a member of the Conseil National des Universités for many years, and Chairman of the jury for the agrégation in economics. A member of the Cercle des économistes, André was also President of the AFSE from 2009 to 2010. Beyond his many professional qualities, André was a very human person, with a great kindness and always ready to listen to everyone. His passing leaves a huge void. AFSE is deeply saddened by his passing and joins his family and friends in their grief.
