6th Biennial Conference on uncertainty and risks in macroeconomics
The 6th Biennial Conference on Uncertainty and Risk
in Macroeconomics: Decision making and policy
challenges will take place in Aix-Marseille School of
Economics (Marseille, France) on June 12th and 13th,
2025.
This conference will span two days, with 11 papers
scheduled for presentation, each accompanied
a discussant. It is organized against the background
of the DEMUR research project on uncertainty and
risk in macroeconomics financed by the ANR (French
National Research Agency).
Travel funding and accommodation may be available,
upon request.
Global economies have recently faced major
economic and climate-related disturbances which are
exacerbated by geopolitical tensions and deep political
transformations. Altogether, these changes increase
the exposure of households, firms, and policymakers to
heightened uncertainty and risk.
The aim of this two-day conference is to bring together
researchers who will present the latest advancements
about uncertainty and risk in macroeconomics with a
special focus on fiscal uncertainty.
We invite submissions of both empirical and theoretical
papers that offer novel contributions covering for
example (non-exhaustive list):
- Assessment of fiscal uncertainty and economic
policy uncertainty,
- Economic implications of geopolitical risk,
- Climate risk analysis,
- Long- and short- term uncertainty and risk,
- Financial markets, sovereign debt and financial risks,
- Drivers of endogenous uncertainty and risk,
- New econometric measures of uncertainty,
- Causal impact of uncertainty and risk.
